Alleged killer of Education Dept arrested in Lower Dir Peshawar January 23, 2021 TIMERGARA: The police on Friday claimed to have arrested the accused in the murder case of the officer of the Education Department within six hours of the incident and recovered the pistol and the victim’s mobile phone. The SP Investigation, Lower Dir, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan along with DSP Farooq Jan and SHO Talash, Muhammad Ayub Khan, told the journalists here that the accused identified as Imdadullah, a resident of Walai Kandao, had confessed to have committed the crime. He said that an unclaimed body was found at Bandagai area of Talash here on Thursday. The brother of the slain ASDO Gul Mohammad had lodged a report in Munda Police Station. He said that his brother Gul Mohammad had left the house to go to Rahimabad but he did not return home at night and his mobile phone was also switched off.

ANP leader not optimistic about Afghan peace talks Peshawar January 12, 2021 CHARSADDA: Provincial president of the Awami National Party (ANP), Aimal Wali Khan, on Monday said that the ongoing Afghan peace talks would not yield any positive results as certain elements in the parleys did not want peace in Afghanistan. Speaking at a press conference in connection with the Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan death anniversaries and firing on the caravan of ANP leader Shakil Bashir Umarzai in Charsadda, he said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was being exploited by everyone for their vested interests. Member Provincial Assembly Shakil Bashir Umarzai, Farooq Jan, Tehseen Abdullah and others were also present on the occasion.Aimal Wali condemned the attack on Shakil Bashir Umarzai and paid tributes to the Shaheed policeman Shahenshah in the firing.

Snowfall: In Shed Collapse, Rooftop Kills CRPF Man

SRINAGAR: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Sub Inspector was killed on Wednesday after a shed collapsed at former legislator’s house in Hazratbal area of Srinagar. Officials told the news agency KNO that a CRPF Sub Inspector identified as H C Murmu of 115 battalion was injured after a shed collapsed due to snowfall at former Hazratbal legislator Syed M Akhoon’s residence. They said the CRPF officer deployed at Akhoon’s residence was immediately taken to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Hazratbal where doctors referred him to SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). However, Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan said that the CRPF officer was brought dead to the hospital.
