The tractor rally by farmers protesting against the three farm laws passed in September was to start at 11 am on January 26. The tractors were to move along a
pre-decided route near the three border points in Delhi where the farmers have been protesting – Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri and return to the border.

New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): Two days after the violence broke out during the farmers tractor rally in various parts of the national capital, heavy security forces continue to remain deployed at the Red Fort and Tikri border.
The security at the Red Fort, a national heritage site, was heightened post tractor rally violence on Republic Day to maintain the law and order situation.
Security has been tightened at the Tikri border where farmers are protesting against the central farm laws for over two months, police said.

Tens of thousands of protesting farmers drove long lines of tractors into India s capital, breaking through police barricades, defying tear gas and storming the historic Red Fort as the nation celebrated Republic Day. They waved farm union flags from the ramparts of the fort, where prime ministers annually hoist the national flag to mark the country s independence. Thousands of more farmers marched on foot or rode on horseback while shouting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
