SC notice to makers of web series Mirzapur

New Delhi, Jan 21: The Supreme Court has issued notices to the makers of web series Mirzapur and Amazon Prime Video.
A plea has been filed stating that the serial portrays Mirzapur in very poor light. The court issued notices and sought a response from the respondents.
An FIR also had been lodged against Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akthar and Bhaumik Gondaliya at theKotwali police station of Mirzapur.
The complainant Arvind Chaturvedi alleged that the web series has shown abusive content and illicit relations.
Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged in Lucknow against the makers of web series Tandav and Amazon s India head of original content for allegedly depicting Hindu gods in a manner hurtful to religious sentiments of the people.
