“There’s nothing like being able to afford your own place . This makes retirement a lot more enjoyable,” said Linda Lech, a 73-year-old who recently moved into the Milton Earl apartments.
Residents are still scared of living at the affordable housing complex, and are having to deal with ice-covered sidewalks, slow garbage removal, and outsiders breaking into the buildings at night.
The Fargo Planning Commission's approval goes against city planners who say the project doesn't provide enough housing density to meet the city’s growing needs.
