It’s the second road race of the year this week with a trip to Austin Texas and the 20-turn behemoth known as COTA or Circuit of the Americas. I would highly suggest reading through the lengthy track breakdown this week as well as listening to the podcast with Dan Malin and myself to get a handle on strategy for the week. This intro won’t be as in-depth as usual since it’s an unknown track for the Cup drivers and they haven’t qualified for their spots yet either and won’t until Sunday morning. The only way I will be updating the playbook is if someone is a big surprise in qualifying in terms of starting spot.
Set: Quarterback, Running Back
The team has all world quarterback Patrick Mahomes and he’s not going anywhere. For now, they have Chad Henne at backup and he’s a free agent next year, but this obviously isn’t a glaring need. Perhaps they could take a future backup QB but then they’d have to carry three on the depth chart. They also just used a first round pick on Clyde Edwards-Helaire last year, Darrell Williams proved serviceable (especially on passing downs as CEH gets acclimated to pass protection at NFL speeds), and they still have Darwin Thompson and Elijah McGuire as well. Running back isn’t something I’d spend on early again.

In an interview on Fantasy Alarm before the Royals’ 13-0 loss to the Mariners at Surprise Stadium on Tuesday night, Moore told show host Jim Bowden that Witt could make the Opening Day roster as the 20-year-old infielder has impressed in every facet of the game this Spring Training including earning the respect of his older and veteran teammates in the clubhouse.
“He can,” Moore told Bowden when he put forth the idea. “I think we’re going to be very open-minded. When we came to Spring Training, we wanted to make sure we send a pretty clear message where we didn’t put unrealistic expectations on the player and just kind of let him go out and play. Try not to create just kind of an aura around him in that clubhouse with a team that we have some
