The Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission is inviting everyone to celebrate Women’s History Month during the month of March by nominating a woman for the Woman of the Year Award.
The commission will be awarding the Fannie Bronson Postell Woman of the Year Award in March. The national theme this year is “Valiant Women of the Vote: Refusing to Be Silenced”. It pays tribute to women who have shaped America’s history and the recent 100 year anniversary of women gaining the right to vote.
Along with the Woman of the Year Award, they will also announce the winner of the Women Educating Women Award Scholarship. Donations are currently being accepted to help fund that scholarship, with officials asking for only a $10 donation.
