IUP FACULTY MEMBER AWARDED FOR ADVISING EFFORTS

Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Jan 23, 2021 6:49 AM An IUP faculty member was honored with an award by a national advising organization this past week. The university reports that Kalani Palmer, a Human Development and Family Science Program faculty member, was awarded for her excellence in academic advising by NACADA, or the National Academic Advising Association, which covers the region of higher education institutions in Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It was formed in 1979 and is headquartered at Kansas State University. According to IUP’s website, Palmer estimates that she has advised more than 300 students since coming to IUP in 2014 and, to Palmer, advising is the most meaningful part of her job.
