MUMBAI: A Mumbai court on Wednesday granted bail to Republic Media Network s Chief Executive Officer Vikas Khanchandani, who was arrested in the alleged TRP (Television Rating Points) rigging scam. Khanchandani was arrested on Sunday from his residence here by the police s Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU).
A petition has also been filed in the Bombay HC to seek relief for him.

NEW DELHI: Republic TV CEO Vikas Khanchandani has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by the metropolitan magistrate court in Mumbai in connection with the TRP manipulation racket.
Just like with the arrest of the network’s editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami, a petition has been filed in the Bombay HC seeking relief for Khanchandani while a bail plea is already pending before a lower court. The sessions court in Mumbai will hear his bail petition on 16 December.

MUMBAI: Vikas Khanchandani, CEO of Republic TV arrested in the TRP manipulation scam, was produced before the magistrate’s court on Tuesday and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. His bail plea will be heard on Wednesday.
He has been sent to Taloja jail. “Among the grounds seeking bail, we have cited that his arrest is a gross misuse of power and abuse of process of law. He is neither named in the FIR nor the chargesheet,” his counsel Niteen Pradhan said.
