Delhi Police has busted a factory making artificial or counterfeit ghee and branding in the name of reputed brands of Patanjali Ghee, Mother Dairy ghee, Amul ghee and Naksh Dairy products, an official.
During the raid, "we found different items for making spurious ghee, and there were two people there, who failed to produce proper documents to run a factory", he said. "A raid was conducted on November 19, by combined teams of DIU and Vigilance branch of Dwarka at Dichaun Kalan. During the raid, one factory was found to be operating in preparation and packaging of counterfeit ghee," said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) M. According to police, the accused used to allegedly package the butter and ghee in fake wrappers bearing the Amul brand name and sell it in the market. They said they have recovered such items worth Rs 65 lakh.
