Faisal, Shilpi lead army to finish cycling events with unique distinction

DHAKA, April 5, 2021 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army cyclists showed their mettle on the closing day of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games making new record in all five events at Army Stadium in the city on Monday.
Army women team consisting of Shilip Khatun Barma, Samapti Biswas and Geeta Roy stole the show in 1200 meter team time trial setting a new mark of 1 min 52. 69 sec. They broke Ansar’s previous record of 2 min 01.22 sec made in 2013. This time Ansar secured the silver with 1 min 58.60 sec. Chattogram Division managed to secure bronze medal with a time if 2 minute 14.28 seconds.
Women’s team undergo Covid-19 test

Members of Bangladesh national women s team on Saturday completed their Covid-19 test at the BCB Academy premises ahead of their month-long training camp scheduled to start at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh women s cricketers had an extremely quiet year, with the national team last taking the field on March 2. BCB is planning to hold the training camp in order to prepare the players for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and other bilateral series.
Bangladesh national women’s team is expected to take part in the 2021 ICC Women s World Cup qualifiers in Sri Lanka from June 26 to July 10 that was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
