Bangladesh Emerging Women team put up yet another dominating show to clinch the five-match one-day series against South African Emerging Women as they secured a six-wicket victory in the third match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
This was the Bangladeshi women’s third straight victory, having won the first two matches by 54 runs and seven wickets respectively, which enabled them to take an unassailable 3-0 lead.
Opting to bat first, the visitors, for whom the match was a must-win game to stay alive in the series, could pile up just 92 runs before being all out in 33.3 overs. The hosts overhauled the target with ease, making 93-4 in 28 overs.

Skipper Nigar Sultana’s unbeaten hundred guided Bangladesh Emerging Women’s Team to a comfortable seven-wicket win over their South African counterpart in the second of five-match one-day series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Nigar scored unbeaten 101 off 135 balls with 11 fours in her innings while Rumana Ahmed made 45 not out as Bangladesh team reached 197-3 in 45.3 overs after restricting the visitors to 196-8 in their stipulated overs.
The win also ensured Bangladesh taking a 2-0 lead in the series after they won the first one-day by 54 runs on Sunday at the same venue.

Women’s team undergo Covid-19 test

Members of Bangladesh national women s team on Saturday completed their Covid-19 test at the BCB Academy premises ahead of their month-long training camp scheduled to start at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh women s cricketers had an extremely quiet year, with the national team last taking the field on March 2. BCB is planning to hold the training camp in order to prepare the players for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and other bilateral series.
Bangladesh national women’s team is expected to take part in the 2021 ICC Women s World Cup qualifiers in Sri Lanka from June 26 to July 10 that was postponed last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
