bottom. it goes all the way 30 feet. right there. and that tree is on a home. and the people who live there say it s about 1:30 this morning they heard a noise. the master bedroom was in the back. and this giant tree came down on their house. he s been showing us the tree that took down a power line and smashed the roof at chesapeake and nebraska. nobody was hurt. he can joke about it. the people on the street taking a look at what s going on, assessing the damage. you will see a lot of that, people saying is it clear to come out, see what s going on, are there trees down, des bris. with those homeowners have to deal with, their roof is crushed in. they re probably going to be out of the house for several months while the repairs get made to that house. tom did mention he has not seen pepco or work crews to clear that tree. might be a while before he does. aaron gilchrist joining us welcome back at 10:05, the very latest, irene has been downgraded to a tropical storm,
and this is the newest track from the hurricane center. it no longer brings it onshore of north carolina as a category 3. that is very important. right around north carolina, they are now bringing it as a category 2. and then a category 2 to a 1, potentially, right around our oth area. so maybe weaker, but still further toward the west, right along our coastline. what does that mean? i m going to break it down for you, but first off, the chesapeake bay now under a tropical storm watch. the beaches now under a hurricane watch. and that, of course, could be a hurricane warning by this time tomorrow. we ll talk much more about who is under what as far as what you re going to see in your areament i ll have it all coming up later on. thank you, doug. well, annapolis is one of the sea side communities breaking for hurricane irene. residents still handgunted by hurricane isabelle of 2003. that storm put city dock under water, caused millions of dollars of damage to people and th
