The number of blind people across the world is set to triple from about 36 million to 115 million by 2050, due to growing ageing population, according to the new study published in The Lancet Journal.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told ABC News that wearing eye goggles or shields could offer more complete protection for people against COVID-19.
