By modifying a commercial virtual reality headset, researchers can now measure brain activity and observe how individuals respond to cues, stressors, and external stimuli.
"In simple words, the subjects were more ready for action and alert to external stimuli after having coffee," said Maria Pico-Perez of Jaume I University, Spain, and the study's first author.
Vanadium Dioxide (VO2), a substance used in electronics, has been shown by EPFL researchers to be capable of “remembering” the whole history of prior external stimuli.
