Military commanders of India and China held the ninth round of talks on Sunday to address the ongoing border standoff between the two countries in eastern Ladakh, ANI reported. The talks began in Moldo opposite Chushul sector in India at 10 am, according to
The Hindu.
Additional Secretary (East Asia) of the Union Ministry of External Affairs Naveen Srivastava and some other officials reached Leh on Saturday, ahead of the meeting, according to News18. Other than Srivastava, the Indian delegation includes Lieutenant General PGK Menon, Briagdier Rajiv Ghai, Major General Sanjay Mitra, Major General RS Raman, Brigadier HS Gill and others.

BEIJING, Dec. 21 On December 18, 2020, Director-General of the Department of Boundary and Ocean Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hong Liang and Joint Secretary of the East Asia Division of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Naveen Srivastava co-chaired the 20th meeting of Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on border affairs. Representatives from both countries competent departments on diplomacy, national defense and immigration affairs attended the meeting.

India and China sat for the diplomatic talks on the Working mechanism for Consultation & Coordination (WMCC) on Friday after more than 2 months with the top focus being disengagement and the next round of military talks.
A ministry of external affairs read out after the 20th round of WMCC said, both sides agreed that the next (9th) round of Senior Commanders meeting should be held at an early date so that they can work towards early and complete disengagement of troops along the LAC , something that New Delhi has been reiterating many times in the over 8 month-long standoff.
