Update 2: Apex Legends has been given a release date on the Nintendo Switch.
The free-to-play Battle Royale game will be available to download and play from March 9.
UPDATE: Season 8 of Apex Legends is out now, but there s still no sign of a Nintendo Switch release.

When it kicks off next week on 2nd February, Apex Legends Season 8 is going to once again make some sweeping changes to Kings Canyon, the original map from the game.
Having illustrated this with an explosive cinematic trailer last week, Respawn have now detailed exactly what’s new and different.

The goal with the changes was to open up a new area of the map to explore (done by exploding and crashing a ship into the map!), make the north west more attractive as a drop point with better rotations through those northern areas, remove some obvious 3rd partying chokes, and also add some new high-ground opportunities.
Apex Legends Mayhem Kings Canyon Map Changes for Season 8 Revealed

Apex Legends Season 8 is set to debut February 2, so the game s developers at Respawn Entertainment have finally decided to reveal how Kings Canyon will change alongside the Mayhem Battle Pass. To celebrate the arrival of Fuse, the first
Apex map just got a hole blown through it. The details arrive courtesy of a blog post published Tuesday morning.
In the source post, Respawn World Director Eduardo Agostini explains that the main goal with these new map changes is to make Kings Canyon rotations more fun and less bothersome in the northern part of the arena. Developers are hoping to accomplish this by opening up lanes for travel, providing new gameplay mechanics and removing areas that grew too cluttered to be effective. “Mayhem” is coming to the
Apex Legends Kings Canyon Season 8 map, developer Respawn Entertainment has promised in its latest blog update. New changes to the map include an entirely new area, ECHO camps, Explosive Holds, Observation Towers, and more. Though a fan-favorite map, Kings Canyon has arguably grown tired since the game launched almost two years ago. Below are the full details on how Respawn is freshening things up for the new season.

A new part of the map was created when a massive gunship crashed into the ground, obliterating an entire mountainside as it fell. This has opened up a previous unplayable portion of the map. The ship itself can be held as a powerful “King of the Hill power position.”
