Apex Legends Heirloom Items: What they are and how they work
You can find plenty of cosmetic items available in Apex Legends, ranging from legend and weapon skins to charms and poses. These have no effect whatsoever on gameplay, but can inject personality to your favourite characters or online matches with emotes and banners. As of now, Heirloom items are the most rare of them all, and will likely remain as is for the foreseeable future.
There is a good reason why these items are so appealing. While you can purchase specific cosmetics from the store or just try your luck in Apex Packs, the only way to modify the appearance of melee weapons is through Heirloom sets. In addition, not every legend has gotten theirs yet, which opens up the door for more events in the future to see them.

Update 2: Apex Legends has been given a release date on the Nintendo Switch.
The free-to-play Battle Royale game will be available to download and play from March 9.

THE Apex Legends Season 8 release has been scheduled for February 2021, and a new leak suggests that this will also be when the game finally arrives on Nintendo Switch.
Apex Legends patch fixes “most of” crashing issues, Respawn still working on it
Players of Apex Legends have been encountering some stability issues of late, including full-on crashes. A fix has been rolled out by developer Respawn Entertainment, which the studio is hopeful tackles the bulk of the causes.
Respawn acknowledged the complaints on Twitter during the week, saying the team is “actively looking for a fix”. Two days later, Respawn had pushed out a patch to solve the problem, or at the very least mitigate it. “This issue in particular has been tricky for us to pin down consistently,” the studio tweeted. “But we are hopeful that we have addressed most of the cases where it happens.”

As the name would suggest, this occasion is all about ranking up and earning Apex Crates in search of snazzy wardrobe additions for every player’s favorite character. Collect all 24 outfits and weapon skins, and you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with a coveted Heirloom item. This time around, it’s the burly defender Gibraltar who gets an upgrade to his personal close quarters weapon, though it’s worth noting, as always, that this is purely an aesthetic improvement rather than mechanical – all Heirloom function identically to their standard counterparts.
