Aunque la Secretaría de Salud yucateca informó el 20 de junio que en la entidad circulan cuatro cepas de Covid-19, la original, la británica, la brasileña y la californiana, las dos últimas desde abril de 2021,

en Yucatán ya se documentó con muestras genéticas la presencia de seis de las 10 cepas que vigila la OMS.
