Freezing temperatures force school closures in Manitoba

  WINNIPEG With Manitoba experiencing freezing cold temperatures on Monday, a number of schools across the province have been forced to cancel for the day. The following schools and buses are closed on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021: All schools in the Prairie Rose School Division are closed. Staff are asked to work from home. Schools are closed and buses are cancelled in the Evergreen School Division.  All schools are closed in the DSFM. The Garden Valley School Division said all schools will be closed. Based on the school division s policy on its website regarding weather closures, it says staff are required to work at the school if it is possible.

MY EDMONDS NEWS Posted: February 4, 2021 Rising Star winner William Miguel Johnson The Cascade Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will offer its annual Children’s Concert, “Discover Your Passion!” at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, as it has for the past 13 years with one current difference. This year’s will be presented virtually, like all of the CSO 2020-21 season music programs have been and will be, due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will be presented online, free of charge, through the generosity of orchestra donors and patrons. “This virtual concert will be suitable for kids of all ages, but is created especially for youth ages 5 to 12,” said Rose Gear, the orchestra’s executive director.

Area residents tune in for virtual town hall
