Youre welcome. Commissioner bustos. Yeah going back to commissioner singhs discussion about parking and again, it is something weve been talking about and i know that since is original conception of objecting this property even the developers have realized that people want sort of larger unit more than 1 or 2 or 3 bedrooms that means nor families; right . That want to bow those properties or live in those unite so expecting families to move around on a bicycle is an elicit it attitude people that have families you know maybe in one affordable units need a car im holy hoping there are other people from the parts of city will that will be able to live in this building there maybe folks from bayview that can live here but their churches or synagogue are in the southeast portion theyll need to drive to church or vista Family Member i know there is a transit first idea that is buzzing through the whole city but it is almost that policy or that way of thinking is meant for a small group of p
Thats what theyre working tonight to try to prevent. Many of the walls have already fallen inward. Tonight as we say this heavy equipment continues to try to control the collapse. They are going to go back up again here. We probably should stay for just a moment with this shot. Liz, you can see how this arm is just articulated off of a tractorred vehicle. He is going to back up now. I think they are going to take a deep breath and assess the situation. In the meantime, we want to start our Team Coverage tonight with phil matier and a fire thats struck at the absolute worst possible moment. Phil. Reporter all right. Its interesting as we are seeing now how dangerous this building is. And fighting this blaze was equally dangerous. The San Francisco firefighters had one thing in their favor. They got lucky. Heres the story. Luck was on our side yesterday. Thats the fastest i have seen a fire spread in my career. Reporter firefighter steve mcgwire was one of the first to arrive at the blaz
Right. Are we providing effort for that . As far as i know, thats not apart of the plan but i dont know the details of the plan. I think we need to think about that. I didnt realize you had to have grazed beds in order to grow vegetables. I was under the impression that the soil was safe to grow vegetables. Were negotiating the park commissioner has agreed in the future to acquire the open space parks, so the recreation and Parks Commission will be responsible for what happens in that and they will engage in a 12 month process and what do we want to do in these spaces. The Rec Park Department will go over that again and work with community and determine any sort of gardens will be something that the Community Wants or if its recreation or passive, so the uses of those open spaces have not been determined. I understand that. But if the only way you can grow vegetables in that area is by having raised beds, i hope thats apart of the consideration. Again, if we did grow vegetables we woul
Meets the requirements. Thank you. Does that conclude this item. There was a comment i had, while im prepared to move it, there are a lot of issues surrounding the concerns that the community has. There a lot of different communities. The community that i come from is the labor community, so i think its appropriate to note that ive spoke actually today in fact with some Community Work force representatives who were not all that thrilled with the relationship that they have with the current developer. I think there could be more outreach there. Also, the San Francisco Building Construction traits council im a delegate and not thrilled with the dialogue related to the Labor Agreement that were hoping would get the work done without any work stoppages. Id like if its not something we can hear today, id like to hear about most recently and most disturbing was the removal of references to stewardship and standard labor community, but of critical importance, border life insulting and the dis
As where we are on the implementation of that, the active soil and ground water phase was completed in 2011 and the long term monitoring of that brown Water Project is under way. Yes, the questions that were raised at the previous hearing were related to whether children can safely grow vegetables, right . Or dig in the soil. Or dig in the soil which they intend to do. That was one of the questions you raised and whats the answer to that . The answer the site is made for children. There is a restriction on growing vegetables for this site, and that is because theres a potential for some plants, for their roots to go down into the water, so the soil is safe, in its current condition. There is a portion of the site that will be capped with clean soil, a minimum 3foot cap and that is the area where there are still some metals in the ground, but there will be the children will be protected from that by a cap and the rest of the site is safe speaker which vegetables are being prohibited fro
