San Salvador, 25 jul (Prensa Latina) El pasado 20 de julio cumplió 74 años de edad el gran Carlos Santana, un héroe chicano de la guitarra eléctrica, responsable de melodías que hemos oído una y otra vez sin sospechar siquiera que son suyas.
Destacan, por ejemplo,Incident at Neshabur o varias pistas de su álbum Supernatural. Sin embargo, quizás la primera canción de Santana que fue popular en Cuba fue el pegajoso Oye cómo va, versión en rock latino de un mambo largamente acreditado al pailero boricua Tito Puente, inspirado a su vez en Chanchullo, del bajista cubano Israel Cachao López.

Chicano hero of the electric guitar, Carlos Santana, responsible for tunes that we have heard over and over again without even suspecting that they are his celebrated his 74th birthday last July 20th. Among them include, for example, Incident at Neshabur or several tracks from his album Supernatural. However, perhaps the first Santana song that was popular in Cuba was the catchy Oye cómo va, a Latin rock version of a mambo long credited to Puerto Rican Tito Puente, in turn inspired by Chanchullo, by Cuban bassist Israel Cachao López.
