The Nigerian Correctional Service has released the names and photos of some of the inmates who escaped during a jailbreak in Owerri, Imo State capital.
Gunmen had in the early hours of Monday attacked the Correctional Centre at Owerri, releasing 1,844 inmates from the facility.
The gunmen also attacked the state police command headquarters and freed 600 suspects from the cells.
As of Wednesday, the NCoS said on its website that it had a total of 84 inmates back in custody. It said the figure included those who did not flee in the first place, those recaptured, those who voluntarily returned, and those returned by their relations, traditional rulers and religious leaders.
