First Minister Mark Drakeford slams thin and disappointing Brexit deal

Brutal broad brush approach taking toll on North Wales hospitality business

Mark Isherwood, MS for North Wales By Mark Isherwood, MS for North Wales Speaking in the Welsh Conservatives Debate on the Welsh Government s December Coronavirus Restrictions, I highlighted the detrimental impact they are having on pubs and other hospitality businesses in North Wales, which have invested time and money to make their premises Covid-safe, and called on the First Minister to consider their evidence and change his brutal broad brush approach . I quoted comments I had received from doctors, who warn that Increasingly stringent regulation which is not evidence based will alienate those who do understand the need for some restrictions for a period and encourage them to ignore the restrictions , and who said that instead of penalising hardworking people, the First Minister needs to listen to their calls and urgently review his ruthless measures before it is too late for them .

Wales fears Brexit delays at Holyhead

Wales fears Brexit delays at Holyhead Updated / Friday, 11 Dec 2020 18:03 London Correspondent A British parliament committee has said it is deeply concerned that no decision has been made on the location of customs facilities for the ports of Holyhead, Fishguard and Pembroke - with just 21 days left before the end of the Brexit transition period. Holyhead is the second busiest roll-on/roll-off freight port in the UK and about half of the outbound freight from Dublin Port passes through it. The confused state of customs preparation on the UK side could result in long delays for Irish truck drivers moving goods in and out of the country.
