Bonia buys 2 office blocks for RM44m

KUALA LUMPUR: Bonia Corp Bhd has purchased two office towers, which will commence construction next month, for RM44.28 million cash as part of its plan for future expansion while reducing dependence on rentals. The company told Bursa Malaysia yesterday that its wholly-owned unit, Luxury Parade Sdn Bhd, had entered into 15 sale and purchase agreements (SPAs) with Platinum Starhill Sdn Bhd for the acquisition of the two freehold properties in Cheras. Platinum Starhill is the developer of the commercial development project which comprises three blocks of multi-storey office buildings and car-park bays. Bonia said the purchase consideration for Block A and Block B was RM29.5 million and RM14.77 million respectively. Block A comprises eight floors with a total net lettable area (NLA) of about 65,574 sq ft while Block B comprises seven floors with a total net lettable area of about 32,838 sq ft.
