Musical Labor at Home and in the Factory: Commercial Music Technologies in the Machine Age Clara Latham is Assistant Professor of Music Technology at Eugene Lang College. Her research focuses on the relationship between sound, technology, and labor. She is a 2023 – 2024 member of the Institute for Advanced Studies, where she is working on a book about early twentieth century commercial music technologies in the United States, showing how electronic musical instruments shaped musical labor in this period.
