West Yarmouth fire sends two to hospital

WEST YARMOUTH A couple was brought to Cape Cod Hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire started in the basement of their home late Monday night.
A little after 11:30 p.m., firefighters responded to 37 Taft Road for the fire, which had sent heavy smoke throughout the whole house, according to Yarmouth fire officials.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Yarmouth fire Capt. Thomas Lundquist said the bed of the couple who were living in the basement caught fire and spread to the rest of the lower level.
