Clark Art Institute introduces Nikolai Astrup to audiences in first-ever U.S. museum exhibition Installation view. WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS .- As part of its summer 2021 exhibition season, the Clark Art Institute presents the first North American museum exhibition focused on the Norwegian painter Nikolai Astrup (1880–1928), who deftly wove tradition and innovation into his artistic production. Astrup is considered one of Norway’s most important artists, yet he is largely unknown outside of his homeland.
