An Indianapolis couple, excited to get the COVID vaccine, die one day apart after contracting the deadly virus. The couple of three decades had been making plans for the new year, but they did not make it to get vaccinated.
According to WRTV, friends of Ernest Ron and Ann Wilkins said they had planned to get the COVID vaccine. The couple was excited that there would be a vaccine to prevent getting infected with the virus; however, the duo tested positive for the virus in December. Soon, the couple got hospitalized and were put on ventilators at Saint Vincent Hospital.

At the end of 2020, Ernest Ron and Ann Wilkins, aged 66 and 59, had been making plans for the new year. They were excited to get their COVID-19 vaccine together, but in December, before it was available to them, they both contracted the virus, friends told WRTV. The couple was soon hospitalized and put on ventilators, and were never able to leave. Ron, who had diabetes and previously had cancer, died on Jan. 8, and Ann died one day later.
