A stranded juvenile sea turtle recovered from Shem Creek on May 15 is being rehabilitated by staff at the Sea Turtle Care Center at the South Carolina Aquarium.
Sea turtle nesting season is off to an early start in Horry County, with the first clutch of eggs in the state discovered on the beach in Garden City on April 29. By May 7, six more nests had been detected and protected statewide in South Carolina.
