Woman crashed her car here into alameda creek. Rescue crews have not been able to find her vehicle. And yesterday she is still unaccounted for. Now, rescue crews say that, because of this storm, the water is moving so swiftly and the currents are so unpredictable, it is just too dangerous for them to get in there and search for the 18yearold woman. In addition, there is a mud slide that has shut down niles canyon road, and that is also hampering rescue efforts. The Sheriffs Department right now is working with the state Water Resource Agency to reduce the amount of water flowing into this creek, but until its safe, First Responders simply cant go in, but they tell me that as soon as the conditions improve, they will try to look for that 18yearold driver. Again shut down nielz canyon road which is above me. You can see below me, there the creek Law Enforcement tells us they have seen a drastic reduction in the amount of water flowing here in the Alameda Creek. Yesterday they couldnt see this young womans car. Compare that to right now in this live look from chopper where you can clearly see her silver honda accord sticking 0 out of the creek. The sedan is upside down in 2 1 2 feet of water located a quarter mile east of the Richmond Bridge on nile s canyon road. Very soon First Responders will attach cables, up right it then try to get it to the shoreline. Her family has made a point of being out here during the search and during this mornings recovery. The Sheriffs Office tell us they plan to hold a moment of silence and vigil if they confirm the 18yearold daughter is still inside the vehicle. Reporter with the search being called off, the family of that missing man, are waiting, getting minute by moment updates on this search, hoping is going to be found alive. Looking for a 32yearold. Hispanic male, out of a kaayk. 59, average weight, bald, with a goatee. Reporter searchers are not giving up hope. Doing bridge searches. Using a dozen boats, choppers, radar, and drones to find the missing boater. The rollover happened when a 32yearold victim was in a kayak, being pulled by a small boat. They traveled from san jose, to the dumbarton bridge. He didnt have his flotation device on. He texted his boyfriend. My boat is taking on water. And she called 911. The other two supports wspects stolen car were arrested. Were not told if they fought the arrest or how that happened. Heavy Police Presence in the area. People in the neighborhood were being told to shelter in place. At this time three people were arrested. They were in a stolen car. Just a few moments ago i asked the police chief do we have the bank robber in this case. He said he cant confirm that. Right now all they know is that they arrested three people in a stolen vehicle. He says right now theyre being questioned separately to make sure they cannot get their stories straight. Its an active investigation to figure out if all three were linked to the bank robbery, maybe one or possibly even none. But likely the chances are one of the bank robbers has been arrested. Were told all three are in custody. But the reason that they still have this area blocked off is by protocol.
