The National Center for Interpretation has started a pilot program to translate existing course content for colleges and departments at the University of Arizona and beyond. The first class, translated into Spanish, is Public Health 208: Community Health Education for Disease Outbreaks, starting this week.
The College of Humanities' annual festival, centered this year on the theme of community, will explore how people come together to create, share, hope and celebrate.
The university will establish a new Center for East Asian Studies that will join three other longstanding centers on campus. The centers will receive the funding over the next four years.
The April 26 event in Washington, D.C., will ask "How Free is Speech on Campus, and Does it Matter?" The discussion, which will be livestreamed, is part of the College of Humanities' new Fearless Inquiries Project.
Best-selling author Walter Isaacson will headline the festival, which is presented by the College of Humanities. Isaacson will appear live at Centennial Hall on Oct. 8.
