Law enforcement officers forcibly clearing some of the encampments. In new york city. Police arrested about 300 protesters on the campus of Columbia University and also at city college of new york officers in riot gear moved in last night to clear out encampments. The nypd also breached colombias hamilton hall, which was taken over by protesters yesterday morning for weeks. These propalestine demonstrators have demanded that universities divest from israeli links companies. The nypd will maintain its presence on campus. There. Yeah, ive been out here all afternoon and just a few minutes ago, students completely left the encampment and are now outside of that for a rally with faculty and staff who are supporting them in their cars. Now, this has been going on for the last couple minutes. Weve heard that that he shared that they are very proud of the students. What theyre doing here. And they also said that theyre disappointed with the silence from the university. Hello, im in for juliette. Just a few days away from 4 20, which is the unofficial holiday celebrating marijuana. But its coming in a time when a lot of legal pot businesses are barely squeezing by. California is still the Worlds Largest market for legalized recreational marijuana. But it has been struggling. The state reported just over 5 billion in total cannabis sales last year. Sounds like a lot, but thats actually down for the second year in a row. Now some local counties are realizing legal pot is not the moneymaker they hoped it would be. Sonoma county gave their businesses a tax break as they talked to one grower who says they shouldnt be taxed at all. Reporter a lot of growers in rural areas thought this was their chance to go legit, but thinks did not work out as expected. Its the taxes being charged by the county thats driving a lot of cannabis providers back into the shadows.
