Vacaville and fairfield, which have been the windiest this morning with the wind advisory up in Solano County. Temperatures are currently starting to rise back in the low 60s san jose hayward, san mateo in concord, each right at 60 degrees or just above it. Now, vacaville up to 65 in later today. We are going to be looking at some 70s and even a few low 80s under all that sunshine. Now, i will be breaking down this weekends opportunity of rain and mountain snow. Still to come in your full forecast, back to all right. Thanks a lot. Lets take a look at the traffic. And right now, wow, its just everybodys cleared out of the bay bridge. So all you see is a sunshine and no traffic, which is quite nice. A 15 minute breezy right into San Francisco over the san mateo bridge. Its been so sluggish earlier this morning is getting much better. 26 minutes now for westbound 92 on the right hand side. So still a little bit slow, much better than it was in the last hour, the richmond, sandra fell bridge is really just 11 minutes now. A little bit of a lineup here to get through the toll plaza and then through where it is better as well because from novato down to the Golden Gate Bridge had been doubled to drive. Time now is just 30 minutes. It was above 40 minutes before. So thats an easy ride. 2, by the time you get to the Golden Gate Bridge, the only thing that hurt us up and that looking in that shot to see if i could see a ferry from sausalito making its way to San Francisco can see the shot. But they are running again this morning. Thats the good news. The Golden Gate Ferry Service between the city of sausalito is a backup in operational after what . 2 weeks of the ye. Because there was damage to the peer they had to fix tha. Crawfords michael thomas. Has been live all morning long watching riders hapa board. Good morning. Hey, good morning, everyone. You know, daria, thats one of the common things that ive heard people say this morning. They didnt want to pay those tolls. They would rather pay to get on the ferry. And this varies been out for at least 2 weeks. But take a look. Weve got video up on your screen, as you mentioned, that peer they were fixing the pylons on it. Theyre doing a routine inspection back on april 19th. Thats when they found that there was a small discrepancies. So out of an abundance of caution, they actually closed it down and they had contractors come in, fix that issue. And this morning the pair was finally ready and open for business. Chatted with numerous people who were gathering here this morning, a few dozen at 7 and more at 8 oclock. Again, all who say really, theyve been waiting for this moment because one they enjoy riding the ferry, but also they say its a lot more costeffective. Take a listen. Drivein car, unfortunately. And how much of that cost him . You got a lot. Very much. So. Like community experience, i mean, every day. So when did you find out that it was going to back this morning . Actually, just walking down here. And, you know, to add to what he was saying, hes not the only person. There was a few people who are here to actually get a bus ticket from one of the machines. And then they saw that the ferry was actually working again. So its at that point that they got onto that ferry. But during this time that it was down, people are having to use that golden gate bus to get over the Golden Gate Bridge and take it in. One woman tells me it took about 2 hours and she says normally takes about 45 minutes to get across that water and back out here live, im sure you can see that beauty behind me, San Francisco. So who would like to see that as they drive in . So the next very leaving is around 10. 45 this morning. But youll hear more from some of the commuters who came at about 9 oclock this morning. Ill send it back to and a huge deal for the businesses inside. So, you know, as well, tourists give a lot of money to sausalito. Theyll be back. Thank you. And weve also heard from students who say that they got letters from the university threatening disciplinary action for their protest. It start off with 19 for out at like 2 or 3 more. Cant exactly. Remember who have letters from the office of Community Standards and are basically being put through their internal disciplinary process. The language is very vague. The more clarification we did contact the school asking how they might be punished for what you know, further the situation of these letters and stanford didnt give us any comment back yet. So were waiting. Well, in the south bay today, students at Santa Clara University will be joining in on these protests. Firewtrks erupted at ucla and protesters clashed on campus across the country of colombia, new york police stormed University Building to arrest dozens of protesters who have been occupying it. This thing is out of control from capitol hill. Lawmakers are watching with concern and House Speaker mike johnson warns of universities dont get the chaos under control. You will see Congress Respond unkind. Youre going to see funding begin to dry up. Youre going to every level of accountability that we can muster. He says several house committees will investigate the protest and may decide to take away federal funding. And this week, congress is gearing up to vote on a bill to change the federal definition of antisemitism under antidiscrimination law. The rampant antisemitism. Requires action by the federal government. Congressman mike lawlor introduced the legislation and supporters say it would allow universities to crack down on harmful speech. This is not the free marketplace of ideas. This is open threats to jewish students because of their faith and who they are. But some worry it goes too far like congresswoman teresa ledger, fernandez, were constitutionally bound to protect. Free speech, even more importantly, when it is speech with rich. We do not agree. And congressman pete aguilar prefers letting universities respond. They have guidance. They have they need to enforce those before congress. Kate snow once the white house as well, President Biden does support peaceful protests. He is concerned about antisemitism on campus and doesnt agree with protesters occupying University Buildings. In washington, im Hannah Brandt. Hanna, thank you. And well continue following that story an other news this morning. 450 homeless families in San Francisco will soon receive financial help.
