Cakes owner opened her door for business friday morning and was greeted with smoke billowing from the building. She was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. Chief cordes says the fire started somewhere in the kitchen area and did heavy damage to the building. There was heavy heat damage to the kitchen area and significant smoke damage throughout the structure, cordes said. All the inventory within that particular business is covered with a heavy, dark black carbon smoke. So, theres significant damage today at pat a cake.
