side of the street. good evening, i m wendy rieger. i m jim vance. a woman, 25-year-old woman was hit by a car in southeast d.c. it happened about 7:30. she was waiting at a bus stop ar southern and pennsylvania avenues. elaine reyes is there with more on what happened. reporter: accident investigators are still on the scene here tonight, taking measurements and reconstructing the accident. you might be able to see behind me that a bus stop sign and trash can were also plowed right through. the driver, we are told, and the passenger are in police custody. the fatal accident happened around 7:30 tonight. a woman in her mid 20s around 25 was standing along the 4000 block of southern avenue when a car came down the hill and plowed right into her. that car ended up in a yard alongside a nearby house. police suspect the driver was impaired or under the influence of something. the young woman died at the scene. police are still in the process of notifying her next of kin. we

problems. that is welcome news. it doesn t mean there aren t some slippery spots especially on some of the side roads and sidewalks and on the bridges and overpasses. be on the careful side this morning. officially, the winter weather advisory continues until 10:00 this morning for most of the northern and western suburbs. . temperatures are precariously close to but mostly above the freezing mark. 36 here in town. near 40 by the bay. near 50 into far southern maryland. here s a check of doppler radar. there you can see a light drizzle and light rain all across the area right now. what little bit of freezing precip is left out there should be gone within the next hour to two hours or so. and temperatures later on today will climb well up into the 40s with moderate rains coming on later on this afternoon. eun? thank, chuck. the winter weather advisory is still in effect in our area. it is a wet and wintry start and that is not a good combination for drivers. elaine is live

good evening. i m jessica kartalija. another early blast of winter is heading our way. a winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of ourer a tonight and early tomorrow morning. there are some very cold temperatures in our area and a nasty storm moving in. for more on this winter weather advisory, we turn to meteorologist bernadette woods live in the first warning weather center. let s get to first warning doppler radar. this is building into a much larger looking storm. although still pretty far away. i want to point out it is in a few different pieces. it is going to move our direction. this is not one solid wall of moisture moving our way. it is progressing off to the northeast and between a storm up here and a storm down here, we re going to get some moisture in between. the reason i use such a broad term is because it is going to come in a few different forms. we have a winter weather advisory starting at 1:00 this morning through 10:00 a.m. you can see the moi
