According to an official order, although Vijayan was not part of the team probing the train fire case, he was in touch with the police team that brought Saifi to Kerala.
A Kerala court on Friday sent Shahrukh Saifi, the prime accused in the Kozhikode train fire incident, to 14-day judicial custody. Saifi will continue to remain under medical treatment at Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode
On Sunday night, passengers of the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express were sprayed with an inflammable substance and set on fire following which three panic-stricken passengers died after they jumped out of the train, while eight others sustained injuries.
