Killing a Novato High School student appeared in court today. Alex savidge joins us live this afternoon with more on that part of the story. Reporter good afternoon. Four young men are charged in connection with killing. However, one of them remains on the run this afternoon. The three who are in custody, they face the judge for the first time a short time ago here in a marin county courtroom. All of these defendants are charged in a vicious attack on two Novato High School student shots and cut with a machete. One of those victims died. The other survived. 17yearold juan carlos and 16 yearold Edwin Guevara are facing firstdegree murder and a testimony the murder while 20 yearold elmer rivera is charged with an accessory after the crime. Now, because of the nature of this killing, the District Attorney has charged the under age defendants as adults. Almeda and Contra Costa County particularly wet this morning. We are taking you into 580 right now. Livermore valley, highway 84, looking at some pretty good rain. Westward toward belmont and redwood city. 880 in union city. Look at this still hill. And the peninsula, 280 down through portola valley. And in the south bay its been steady light rain with pockets of heavier rain. The Santa Cruz Mountains really looking at the moisture being pumped in. We will continue to see a cold front push through the area today. A little bit of a break in the north bay with a height rain here. But this isnt even here yet. In august i actually talked to some pastors who wanted to spread a similar message of peace, but when i asked them about education in the community, and education, as you know, leads to jobs. Your ability to do the job, to get a job. They werent talking much about that. Unfortunately, there wasnt a Polly Williams down there, and that is a tragic, tragic circumstance in that city right now. But, rich, i get the impression that the media focuses more on the dividers than on the uniters. Im sure there be other Polly Williams in the country, although she was unique. Well, thats the nature of our media world today. The more outrageous you are the more twitter followers you have and things like that. Look, what ferguson needs most is jobs. Im so glad david mentioned that and to have jobs you need employers and what do employs want .
