Holed up in a residential neighborhood all day. Here is the search zone all three sightings have been just off el camino in the palm and hayward avenue area. Cornell, what have you been able to learn . One Police Officer told me that that shot was not related to the search for the Mountain Lion. We can tell you still its an active search for that Mountain Lion. Were two blocks from el camino real. The big cat was last seen in the back of an apartment complex a block from here. 10 10, 9th avenue. Officers are going door to door with guns drawn. Very carry fully searching backyards. The lion was first spotted Walking Around about 4 30 this morning, then, 1 20 in the afternoon, then, 4 30 today at that apartment complex. At one point officers went door to door with guns drawn and told resident to keep an eye on the children. All 3 sightings off el camino in the ninth palm hayward avenue area. Very congested part of san mateo o. Finally after 7 00 oclock tonight officers were able to corner that big cat in a tree and shoot witness a tranquilizer dart. Officers brought it out to the street and loaded it on a truck. Tranquilize tranquilizing an animal is tricky dangerous situation. One shot it missed. The darts are not like bullet they fly all over the place so took 2 shots. To bring the lions down and he was safely tell sleeping away in the bushes over there. So animal not hurt. Youre looking at what will eventually extend the mtas tline by 1. 8 miles and hopefully easing traffic above and a walkthrough by San Francisco mayor. We are well on our way to opening this city up in 2019 and really having a solution a concrete solution to the congestion that we already see in the city. Reporter the concrete down here is the most fascinating. Its roughly 11 inches thick and 18 feet in diameter on the inside, not one piece, but 1,750 rings as they call them with five sections east.
