Cromwell officials adopt $54.3 million budget proposal for 2021-22 FacebookTwitterEmail 2of3 3of3 CROMWELL - The Board of Finance has adopted a $54.3 million proposed budget for the coming fiscal year, a package that will go before voters on May 4. . The Finance Board acted after spending about 45 minutes reviewing the general government (or town) budget, but made no reductions in that $17.9 million part of the proposal. The board did recently reduce the proposed increase in education spending by $312,000 to $32.7 million. The Board of Education had submitted a proposal calling for spending $33.1 million, a 3.9 percent increase from its current budget. In presenting her proposed budget, Superintendent of Schools Enza Macri shad said the $33.1 million budget was what she needed to overcome the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic and the disruptions it created for students psychologically and emotionally.
