Smoke migrating into Connecticut from wildfires in Canada contains particulate matter that could be unsafe for some individuals, the health director said.
As smoke from millions of acres of land burning in Canadian wildfires reached a peak Wednesday, a short reprieve is expected this weekend, Jay Woron said.
The measure, which also involved the prohibition of night clubs, was initiated before the May 21 homicide of a New Britain man, 20, at the Hidden Hookah Lounge.
