In 1995 john gave acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the pugwash conferences on science and world affairs, an International Organization of scientists and public figures in which he served in various leadership positions. More recently for the last eight years, john was president obamas science adviser and director of the office of science and Technology Policy where he was my boss for a while. So i would say its important for carbon, and frankly its important for economic competitiveness that we keep pushing on the frontiers, maintain what i consider to be an edge in at least most areas of the Clean Energy Transformation thats coming.
