Lauren,here is this meeting being held . In the highsmith auditorium at 6 pm, on the campus of unc asheville. It is free and open to the public. 3 the Buncombe County Sheriffs Office implemented body cams last year and currently, 70 sheriffs deputies are outfitted with them. They are also now consididing officers with body cams. Though a policy has been in place since the agency began using them, tonights forum is a chance to answer questions from the public. Buncombe county sheriff van duncan, Asheville Police chief tammy hooper and a local civil rights attorney are among those who will be in attendance. The Asheville Police Department Plans to implement body cameras for 60 officers as early as this summer.
