It is free and open to the public. 3 the Buncombe County Sheriffs Office implemented body cams last year and currently, 70 sheriffs deputies are outfitted with them. They are also now consididing officers with body cams. Though a policy has been in place since the agency began using them, tonights forum is a chance to answer questions from the public. Buncombe county sheriff van duncan, Asheville Police chief tammy hooper and a local civil rights attorney are among those who will be in attendance. The Asheville PoliceDepartment Plans to implement body cameras for 60 officers as early as this summer. Officials with the Sheriffs Office say that is one of the many reasons they chose to organize this event, now. 3 00 21;5400 22;06the Police Department has decided on implementing the body cams.
