Emmet County Records Additional COVID-19 Related Death

Des Moines, IA (KICD)– The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting 141 new cases of COVID-19 in the state as of 11 a.m. Wednesday taking the state to 402,747 total cases and 6,084 virus-related deaths.
Locally, the largest 24-hour increase in cases is in O’Brien County with four, followed by two in Buena Vista, Dickinson and Kossuth Counties, one in Clay and Pocahontas Counties and no change in confirmed cases in Osceola and Palo Alto Counties.
A one case reduction was reported in Cherokee and Emmet Counties with health officials are noting one additional resident of Emmet County has died from complications related to the virus.

IA, (KICD) The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting 128 new cases of COVID-19 in the state as of 11 A.M. Thursday, taking the pandemic total to 401,432 cases and 6,047 virus-related deaths.
Locally, the largest 24-hour increase was in Dickinson and Emmet Counties with 3 each, followed by Buena Vista County with 2, followed by O’Brien and Palo Alto Counties with 1 each. There was no change in Cherokee, Clay, or Pocahontas Counties. There was a two-case reduction in Osceola and Kossuth Counties.
Minnesota health officials added 499 new cases Thursday morning, taking the state to 600,408 total cases and 7,402 total deaths. The update includes 1 new case in Jackson and Nobles Counties.

IA, (KICD) The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting 283 new cases of COVID-19 in the state as of 11 A.M. Friday taking the pandemic total to 399,074 cases and 5,998 virus-related deaths.
Locally, the largest increase was reported in O’Brien County with 3 new cases, followed by Cherokee, Dickinson, and Emmet Counties with 2 each. Palo Alto County reported 1 new case, and there was no change in Pocahontas, Osceola, and Buena Vista Counties. There was a one case reduction in Clay and Kossuth Counties.
Minnesota health officials added 1,305 new cases Friday morning, taking the state to 592,750 total cases and 7,283 total deaths. There were no new cases in Nobles and Jackson Counties.

Des Moines, Ia- All but two of Iowa’s 99 counties have rejected all or most of their COVID-19 vaccine allotments for this week.
The Des Moines Register reports that just two counties, Monona and Emmet Counties, wanted their full allocations of COVID vaccine.
On Friday, the Iowa Department of Public Health reported that 57 counties wanted zero vaccine.
Department of Public Health Spokeswoman Sarah Ekstrand said in a statement that the state qualified for about 69,000 vaccine doses for this week, but is requesting just short of 20,000.

Locally, the largest increase was in Clay County with 4, Dickinson, O’Brien, and Osceola Counties reported 3 each, and Pocahontas reported 2 new cases. Multiple counties saw a reduction in cases, Buena Vista County saw a 4 case reduction, Cherokee and Emmet Counties saw a two case reduction each, and Kossuth and Palo Alto Counties saw a 1 case reduction each. There was one additional death reported in Pocahontas County.
