now they are losing the crops they ve planted and cared for over the past three weeks. they say the police action was not necessary. the university disagrees. police in riot gear stand guard around 6:30 this morning. i saw about 80 to 100 cops in riot gear to try to disband what we had disbanded. we voluntarily disbanded saturday reporter: that is not entirely true. some members chose to stay and face the consequences. there were 10 sleeping on the property. two decided not to leave and were arrested. reporter: another seven were realized outside of the gates after police declare add unlawful assembly. uc berkeley uses the land for research. a university spokesman says that research needs to resume this week. the occupy farmers and university could have shared the land but there were ground rules. all they needed to do was leave voluntarily they refused. they continued to sleep here last night. they insisted they would retain control and supervision of our property.
