A short list of the wokesters Simon Bridges should target next

Opinion Inspired by Bridges’ brave stand against the evil wokesters, Emily Writes unearths other examples of the woke peril. This week, Simon Bridges described NZ Police’s Andrew Coster as a “wokester commissioner” who isn’t fit for the job. The “too nice” Coster is not arresting enough baddies, you see. When asked why Coster was a “wokester commissioner” Bridges replied: “because he is”. You simply cannot fault that logic. It’s absolutely time to stop the stinking tide of woke extremism that is flooding our media and public service. I stand with Bridges and all of the mighty crusaders against wokeism.

Amandla … « The Standard

Written By: mickysavage - Date published: 9:07 am, February 26th, 2021 - 5 comments It seems that the Springbok tour protests in 1981 had a deep and abiding effect on David Seymour, even though he would not be born until two years later. He was clearly affected by the experience or lack thereof and has clearly harboured a deeply felt opposition to apartheid ever since. But regrettably his deeply felt opposition to apartheid is not matched by his understanding of what it involves.  Because he has confused the ability of part of the electorate to refuse to allow meaningful representation of Maori with the gross suppression of rights based on race.

An Aucklander who spent six minutes at a store where a Covid-19 case was working had to wait nearly eight hours on the phone to get advice from Healthline. Even if this item isn t correct in every detail it illustrates cracks in the Covid management policy widening. Are front-line workers being properly paid and rested? Are investigators really on top of their job keeping up with the urgency needed, that was shown earlier on? NZ can t afford to be complacent. Recently one student was phoned a number of times without success, and a visit to the house wasn t made. In the meantime the virus was being spread.

The Bulletin: How the latest Covid-19 outbreak is being felt

The Bulletin: How the latest Covid-19 outbreak is being felt Good morning and welcome to The Bulletin. In today’s edition: How the latest Covid-19 outbreak is being felt, NZ woman captured on Syrian border on suspicion of being a terrorist, and bipartisan commitment to supporting Saudi war effort revealed. Yesterday was a day of significant developments in the Covid-19 outbreak and third lockdown, and I’ll try and get across them all. The biggest newsline was that no new community cases have so far been reported, over and above the three from the weekend. That’s good news, but it’s not by any means the whole picture, because as our live updates reports, the strain is the more transmissible UK variant, and there’s still no confirmed link to managed isolation. A critical round of test results is expected later today, of close contacts of the three people from schools and workplaces.

Paora Goldsmith, Māori history and identity politics

Written By: mickysavage - Date published: 9:36 am, February 4th, 2021 - 73 comments Holy hell. Because they are coming out with the most outlandishly stupid stuff. Like Paora Goldsmith who thinks that as part of New Zealand history our kids should be educated about how Smith and Caugheys developed their business model, rather than how the Treaty of Waitangi and the subsequent egregious breaches are fundamental parts of our history that have shaped Aotearoa New Zealand society. New Zealand’s first draft plan to teach our own history in schools has been slammed as “unbalanced” by the Opposition National Party. The long-awaited draft curriculum for what are called “Aotearoa New Zealand’s Histories” is structured around just three “big ideas” – all about Māori and colonisation. They are:
