Written By: News Staff | 4:54 pm, Feb. 1, 2021 The Perham Speech team competed virtually against 32 other teams in a meet hosted by Fergus Falls on Jan. 30. The Perham team finished fourth out of 33 teams in the event, said a news release from the Perham-Dent Public Schools. The tournament was a National Individual Events Tournament of Champions bid tournament. The number of bids available for qualifying categories is determined by the number of entries in the event. Over the course of the season, individuals need to receive two bids to compete at the NIETOC event in May.

(Submitted photo) The Perham speech team competed in an asynchronous tournament hosted by Cass Lake-Bena. Perham finished fourth in the event, while Eveleth-Gilbert was first. Bemidji finished second, said a news release from Perham-Dent Public Schools. Perham had a total of six entries and seven speakers for the event on Jan. 23.
