NAIA OTF National Athletes of the Week (April 28) ::: USTFCCCA

The NAIA National Office announced its National Athlete of the Week selections for outdoor track & field on Wednesday. Kenny Benton of Tennessee Wesleyan was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after a sterling performance at the AAC Championships. Benton earned Track MVP honors thanks to winning the 100, 200, 400 and helping out on the first-place 4×100 relay. Hunter Drops of Oregon Tech was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after a strong effort at the CCC Multi Championships. Drops won the javelin throw with a mark of 70.93m (232-8) and now leads the nation by more than 25 feet.

Emily Kearney has broken the Merseyside and South Carolina records for a half marathon A Wirral athlete is blazing a trail in endurance running after winning a half-marathon in America with a record-breaking time. Emily Kearney, from Prenton, triumphed at the Mortgage Network Half Marathon in Hardeeville, South Carolina on Sunday (December 6) in a remarkable new personal best time of 72.21. In doing so, the 25-year-old Wirral Athletics Club runner not only set a new South Carolina record but also a new Merseyside record. Underlining her credentials as the most exciting talent in Merseyside endurance running in a generation, her performance was the fastest time by a Merseyside athlete for almost 40 years.
