The NAIA National Office announced its National Athlete of the Week selections for outdoor track & field on Wednesday.
Kenny Benton of Tennessee Wesleyan was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after a sterling performance at the AAC Championships. Benton earned Track MVP honors thanks to winning the 100, 200, 400 and helping out on the first-place 4×100 relay.
Hunter Drops of Oregon Tech was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after a strong effort at the CCC Multi Championships. Drops won the javelin throw with a mark of 70.93m (232-8) and now leads the nation by more than 25 feet.
