Store-bought toys can be inaccessible for children with disabilities. Adapted toys are expensive. A local group modifies them and donates them to people who need them.

We recently tapped into the experts from the Granite State Ambassadors to tell us about their favorite places in the state for pet-friendly, family-friendly, wheelchair accessible and healthy senior fun. These local experts have special knowledge of their regions of the state and their favorite recommendations for guests with specific needs, but first here’s some background on how the Ambassadors came to be.
As do so many great things in New Hampshire, it all began with a casual conversation between colleagues. This one took place a little more than 25 years ago.
Judi Window was executive director of the Southern NH Convention and Visitors Bureau at the time, and was sharing a vendor booth with people representing the state of New Hampshire at the Made in NH Expo. Spring is here and hope beckons. Maybe soon, maybe even now, we can begin to chip our way out of the shells we’ve been in since the beginning of the pandemic. Was it just a year ago? Seems like a generation, but all that time spent in our bubbles will just make it that much sweeter when we re-encounter and re-embrace the wondrous attractions of the Granite State.
